Like I said, ganking happens on a PvP server. On some more than others.

The cool thing on the RP server is that if you give a shout out over the channel, someone usually comes to help. Most people hate gankers which is why you already have guilds forming to deal with them.

But it will always happen regardless. So yeah, I understand where you're coming from. I just try not to look at it from the extreme point of view. Will this happen every day? 90% of the time? 50%? 10% of the time?

If it's around 10% (which has been my normal experience on every FFA PvP server I'd tried.) I can deal with it and still enjoy giving back what I take. Still sucks but it's figured into the equation. You have to go into it with the expectation of getting ganked now and again but it pays off for all the great PvP battles you have.

If that's enough or not is totally up to you. Hell, until this game, most MMO PvP'ers were in the minority so it's not like you're alone in feeling like you do.

Hell, I'm not a huge fan of FFA PvP either. If I had my choice, I'd be 100% happy on the PvE server if it was like DAoC. You could PvP if/when you wanted but didn't ever have to deal with it if it wasn't your thing. They say the Boarderlands are somewhat like this, but since information is so sketchy, I'd hate to level all that way only to find that all you can do i seige the keeps. So much is still unknown at the moment and that's what's making a lot of us unsure.

Why every other MMO with PvP hasn't followed that model is beyond me, but we have to deal with what we have. No right or wrong choice, just different preferences.

But as it stands, our best option for PvP is the RP server due to reasons stated here and elsewhere.

*EDIT* for some additional thoughts
