No worries. I want everyone's opinion on this stuff, good, bad or indifferent.
I'm not really concerned about a Rep of anti-gankers because the only people you'll piss off are...the gankers. Everyone else will appreciate the fact that you'll jump into a fight to even up the odds.
Just have to be mindful of guild vs guild battles. Because we don't want to start a war with someone when we don't know going in, who the bad guys are.
But in my experience, it becomes easier and easier to see what guilds are the of the "Gank" variety and which one's are trying to do the right thing. As you said, reputations precede you once a server is established. A guild that has a rep of taking care of it's own and raining down hell on anyone that messes with it's members can do a lot towards ending random ganking.
On the flip side, something we also have to be mindful of is that we're on an RP server and we aren't an RP guild. Protocol in that regard is that when joining a pick up group or inviting someone into yours, it's always nice to ask a persons/groups intentions.
If they are a group that is RPing, either go along or state that you aren't interested and leave. If someone joins your group make it clear that you aren't RPing and allow them to stay or go depending on their intentions.
ANY member of Focused that griefs or gives people crap because they just want to RP will get booted from the guild. Be polite until it's time to not be polite.
Yes, some RP'ers can be jerks as well and if they are just doing it to be annoying, then that's one thing. I'm just stating that all things being equal, be nice and respect the fact of where we are and the ruleset we've agreed to play under.
