When I said ALL the buttons I mean ALL the buttons, if I click ANY of the shut-down related buttons nothing happens.

I can kill all of them bar one which is always on (after I start firefox once), until I reboot- even if there are no firefoxes open. If I click the end proccess button, again, nothing happens.
For anyone that finds this on a search, you can change what the power buttons do in Start-->Control Panel-->System and Maintenance-->Under 'power options' there is an option to change what the power buttons do.
