What do you mean only for blueprints? I would assume they work the same way as the other quests. In order to complete my weaponsmith quests I had to build each weapon, then turn it into the vendor. For this I had to buy the Hilt, 6c, and then use 4 copper and 4 silver resources. I lost these and the hilt and the sword once i completed the quest.
