Right now Im not voting . I know kat doesnt want to play on a pvp server but I'm not sure about it myself yet since I really dont know how pvp will happen. Is it just between the 3 difference races or what?

I'd like to play both. Though I do like the idea of a PVP server with PVE play. Does PVP include PVE or is there a PVP-PVE server?

Well historically a pvp server is a pve server that allows pvp anywhere. Any zone any place you can pvp in.
Take wow for instance, the pvp server I played on Sargeras. If we had a Horde come into the dorf home city everyone in that city could attack him. If we were outside the city you could attack.
The major draw back for a straight pvp server is that when you want to pve and do your quests you have to watch over your back, you can be camped and harrassed by higher lvl players or well by anyone who wants to harass you.
it can be a major drag if your traveling a great distance and havent like updated your spawning spot and then you die, only to end back hundreds of thousands of miles away from your body.

Kat and I will definitely being playing on a PVE server. I just jumped on today and the open combat is interesting but with No rulesets its only for 12 year olds who want to gank in town.
I was attacked today while I was reading a quest and that to me is wrong. I figured maybe it would be race vs race pvp but FFA is a little crazy in a game like this lol

I felt the same way as you cg until I was in a larger party this afternoon. We had five players in a party and it opened up some interesting game play. We even watched each others back as we took the quests - pretty funny I wish I had a screenshot. The five other players would stand with their backs to the player getting the quest looking out for funny business from other players.
Coordination and grouping is the key to staying alive. Soloing or heading out with two players is asking for trouble. As we ran around I noticed those single players or two to three would sort of go around us. We were not looking to attack but certainly were prepared for one.
Also made a difference on the fun factor for me. Soloing in a PVP enivronment can lessen that factor for sure.

I'd like to play on a PvP server, even if it'll be an orgy of ganking. A good group can defend. Although I can understand the arguments for anti-soloing.

I am going to go PvP especially if we can get something organized between -F- and our 'friends'. But I'll also start a PvE set of characters in case the PvP is just too much of a griefer gankfest.
The game is just too rich to ignore if one system doesn't work for me like the other way of playing.

Question thought, to p8triot and zoopy and fatkid. Do you always want to have to have 5 people in your gang? Unless you want to just gank people anywhere why would you want to play on a pvp?
The keeps I will assume will be in the same spot no matter if they are on a pvp server or a pve server, so the only real difference is that on a pve you can actually read the quests and kill stuff as opposed to a pvp server where you need 5+ people in your group to do the same thing.

Well.. you are right about those observations. Drawing on my D&DO experience,, you get a well rounded combat group with 5 or more players operating together. With less.. you need to have some serious powerful juju helping you out...
PvP has a conquest mission.. and we may only have 5 guys in our group.. but if you ally with 5 more in another group.. you can create a common strategy and gain real estate.
Does that make sense.. it's getting difficult... I'm tired.

I will definitely be going pve. I liked playing pvp today with Zoop, but I don't always want to group or get my posse to do a few simple quests. We also have not seen what it will be like when there are bored high level players who decide to come down to to the early villages for a little fun.
