Default PvE Consolidation

Howdy all, Tarpan here, looks like I finally managed to find you guys. An oh yea, hey CG and Kat... this is Black Dog. :P Any other Crack Shackers around?

So here's what's going on. Over at TG, pretty much everyone has filtered to the RP-PvP server. So far it's myself and Grieg that I've mainly seen, though there are two others in the TG guild as well (I only joined the guild last night, and the guild was made yesterday-ish). I haven't seen anyone else (except now Grieg) on our PvE TS channel, while the PvP channels are always occupied. This leads me to believe that we're actually not going to get many in the end.

I've poked around a bit here and it seems that you guys might have a larger contingent of PvE players- though I do see some talk about the RP-PvP server as well. So, I guess the main question is, what do you believe is your PvE headcount? Specifically, people who will spend the majority of time on the PvE server, as opposed to jumping back and forth or playing once in a while.

If there's a large enough base I'd suggest, if'n ya'll were amenable, that we consolidate groups. Lots of members are needed to be able to make a guild city, and I don't see it happening with just a person here or there. I'd like to avoid having it come down to making the choice between playing on the server I want but without a solid guild/city, or having a guild/city but being on a server I'm not comfortable with (ie hopping on the RP-PvP server).

Input?

Hey man! Kat and I actually started on PVE, have lvl 22s on ZUG but we have been playing on the RP-PVP server since thats where just about everyone here has filtered to as well. Not sure what we are gonna do right now if we are gonna continue to play mainly on Cimmeria or swap back and forth to Zug or what. Our PVP characters are 20 now so we have hit the starter cities

Heya Tarp! Glad to see you made it over to say hello.

Initially we were going to call Zug our home server and call it a day. However, some of us had concerns about how the end game PvP was going to play out so we jumped on Cimmeria to get a feel for the FFA aspect of it before making a final decision.

For me personally, I'm having a blast with it and don't think I'll be hopping back to PvE anytime soon. As cg_ said however we do have a group of people that aren't sure if they want to stay on a PvP server once they get out into the open world/PvP pretty much everywhere aspect of the game. To be honest, you either fall in love with it or you hate it. Some people tolerate it but I'd hope that if people stay on the PvP server, they're doing it because they're having fun and not because they don't see any other choice.

I'm sure the next week will pretty much determine where everyone wants to spend most of their time playing. If we are mostly on the PvP server, I'd encourage the PvE groups from both -F- and TG to join forces as you stated.

It just doesn't seem like there would be the numbers to make either guild go if they stay seperate. For any of the Focused PvE people that are 100% sure they are going to stay that way, please feel free to speak up if they want to take the ball and run with things on Zug.

As it stands, I'm open to suggestions as to how to move forward.

What PvE server are you on Smoking?

I am still playing on Zug and I just dinged 37 before I went out of town. I think there is going to be plenty of endgame PvP in the Border Kingdoms and at guild cities that I am content staying on Zug.

So far I am enjoying levling and seeing the world without fear of getting ganked.

I'm over on Zug with the rest of the PvE people (27 Assassin, Ruko). Problem seems to be, however, that most people are apparently going over to the RP-PvP server.

It takes a lot of work and people to get a guild city going, and right now the outlook isn't that positive for the PvE server. Between the F and the TG people, I think all we'd need is a level 40 and maybe 2-3 more members and we could start a city hopping. Granted, I know that there's a bit of friction out there and F and TG may not join forces, but it still seems like either group has far more people interested in the PvP server. I just don't want myself or others to have to start recruiting strangers from the ground up just to fill out numbers, especially when there's people that are familiar that we could do things with. Either way, over at TG or here, I'm not seeing a ton of responses for the PvE stuff. :P

Today I think I'm give the RP-PvP server a spin, though I'm already biased against it, and I'm asking a few other PvE server folks to do the same. Hopefully I don't have an aneurysm the first time I get ganked. :P

Tarp, you just have to go into it with the expectation that you'll get ganked from time to time and you will run into some asshats that will camp you.

However, there are enough of us around that if it's happening, give a shout out and we'll come running. I have no issues with hanging around White Sands/the Undercity or the Ruins to help people quest in peace. I will say however, that the ganking has been kept to a minimum for the most part. People are doing their own thing and having fun. You just need to keep an eye on your surroundings and look for anyone acting shady.

For me, it's been about 95% normal PvE and 5% getting ganked, worried about getting ganked and killing the people that ganked me. Normal for a FFA PvP server is usually around 10 to 15% ganking/random PvP, depending.

As far as TG vs F goes, I can only speak for myself but I don't think those issues should come into play here. There might be some question of who's banner the PvE group forms under (and I would suggest something neutral if at all possible) but outside of that, people just want to play and have fun.

All the other BS doesn't matter unless someone makes it matter. So I wouldn't worry about it in this setting.

Yea, I'm just having (not so) fond memories of trying to get quests done in WoW and getting ganked right before the last part... repeatedly, heh. Like I said, I'm gonna give it a whirl today on the PvP server and see how things go. I'm just trying to avoid splitting people up as much as possible.

Just to be clear, Focused members don't have any animosity whatsoever towards the TG membership and would have no problem with TGers using our TeamSpeak. To be quite candid, we have no beef with anyone at TG except for Apophis, who has a rather indelible beef with us. Apophis has asked that we not use TG TeamSpeak for our activities, so I really don't see a need to push the matter when we have our own resources at our disposal.

Anyone who wishes to run a guild or group on our TeamSpeak is free to do so

Oh, I figured that you guys didn't want to slash each others' tires or anything. Maybe put saran-wrap over the toilet bowl, though (man did my uncle have an unhappy 3am call of nature). :P

Does that mean F people aren't allowed on the TG teamspeak at all, even if they're doing things with TG members? Or just that their teamspeak isn't for F-only activities? Just trying to nail down the finer details here.
