So now we'll just consider "heroes" to be the bastard child of the series and move on.

Except for the "buying player upgrades" this game looks awesome.

i don't think we should dismiss it out of hand. i'm suspicious it won't be great, but i feel like we should try it -- especially if 3 takes a while to come out after heroes.

It will probably be a pretty fun game. I just hope to dear god they have maintained the squad system in some form and that it isn't too dumbed down.

do we have any idea if the server system will work the same way as for bf2 and 2142?

I didn't hear any mention of it in the vids although they went on at great length about their matchmaker feature which attempts to place players of similar skill levels in the same games. This is a bit worrisome as it sort of implies centrally run servers intended for specific skill ranges.

well, generally games that have pay for perks use central servers.
