Game Nights
We have had some difficulty in filling the server on an every night basis as seeders are spread out currently in the times that we can hit the server. Because of this, we haven't hit the critical mass necessary to really draw in outsiders to the community.
In response, we would like to announce Game Nights at Focused Gaming. On Wednesday nights and Saturday Afternoons, the admin team will make a concerted effort to seed the server in order to get us up to that critical mass on those nights. If you do have COD and want to play with your Focused buddies, this is a perfect opportunity to do it.
On top of this, Starting on March 29th, Saturday Afternoons will be Mod nights. Expect to see some of the new maps that Ikonic and Angel of Death have featured in the forums as well as some new game modes like Capture the Flag.
Join us this Saturday afternoon at roughly 2pm eastern and on Wednesdays at 7pm for some fun!

I can understand that. The reason for this particular time is to benefit those like Darksteel and other Euro's who miss out on games otherwise. In our discussion, it was clear that this was a group that would feel left out if we neglected them.

Some good rounds last night. We need to promote COD4 nights community wide. The more the merrier.

Alright, we have a treat for you today. AWE Mod with Capture the Flag and Hold the Flag. On top of that, we do have a couple new maps worked in. Carman and myself are seeding the server, See ya in game! (Saturday at 2pm eastern).

Tried joining today for the afternoon session but after loading the maps I got dropped. Can't remember the exact wording but it was sometype of error message.

For the AWE mode, I really enjoyed it. Beyond having a couple of additional modes for the old maps, I liked seeing a couple new maps also.
Complex, with the tunnels and the large hangers was a lot of fun. Quite a bit of cover and yet it was a decent sized map.
Old Town was great. It was tight combat with a mix of bottlenecks and open areas that kept fighting close but still separated.
Vertical(Hillside) is also solid. Good cover, mix of open avenues and bottlenecks and lastly it has multiple routes to every point.
Village would be perfect with a couple of mapper side adjustments, but it is a converted Single Player map to multiplayer.
Capture the Flag has always been a favorite style of gameplay for me. I remember playing in a couple tournaments in 1942 (The game, not the year) and wish they had popped it into BF2.
What did you think?

I'll try it again today and get the wording of the message. My connection was slow yesterday so it was taking forever to download the maps. Maybe that had something to do with it as well.

The new maps and game styles have revitalized the game for me.
I definately like CTF, and the one where you have to hold the flag (like a mobile CP) [name is escaping me].
I agree with Lucky, Old Town was a nice addition. Many of the new maps offer great variety and complexity that rival the Vanilla maps, IMO.
Other than the fact that the server does not show up in the server browser, I was happy to see a much fuller server last night. I hope other had as much fun as I did.
p.s. I'll be on tonight as well
