The case and power supply you listed = $55 + $60 = $115

The case and power supply I suggested = $130

I just built a system with a Sonata III, an 8800GT, and other stuff. It was supposed to be my media center, but it kinda took over as my desktop. It's complicated.

Its bought, and I went ahead with the 8800GT and the normal HD. Total cost with shipping is $1198.31, minus $90 in rebates. So im roughly $110 over what I wanted to pay, but thats ok.

However, I sent it to my brothers place in Texas and we'll build it together there when I visit towards the end of the month because he said I would surely screw up the processor and fan. So I wont get to actually use the new computer until I get back around the 16th of June.

Its not really hard to screw up putting the CPU in, you just line up the arrow (or count the pins on the back).

Yeah, I don't think you'll even have to apply thermal paste if using a stock CPU fan. It should already be on there. Line it up, stick it on, clamp it. Which reminds me of something...

Im prone to fucking things up though. If I assembled it here, id only have roughly 10 days to use it before id be on the vacation anyway. 10 days isnt worth possibly wasting several hundred dollars.

Anyway, the grossly incompetent people running newegg need to be shot. They allow you to put a different billing address from the shipping address. We did that and it all appeared okay last night. Today they arent allowing it to go through because the credit card information on the shipping address does not match the information on the billing address. Of course it doesnt fucking match. I can hardly think of a situation where if the shipping and billing addresses were different would they be on the same credit card information. Whats even more ridiculous is that the bank has already sent the money to newegg, yet they arent shipping it because of this.

Most ridiculous system ever. I cant be the first person that has sent a computer to a friend who knows how to make them, and im sure someone has sent stuff as a gift to a different shipping address as well. This cant be uncommon for newegg, yet they still have this system. Currently newegg is apparently calling the bank to hopefully work it out, so im crossing my fingers.

If only neweggs prices/selection weren't so nice.

I don't know why you're having a problem with them. I've had friends buy computer parts with their credit cards and ship them to my house so I can put it together for them multiple times without issue.

From their FAQ Sheet

For fraud prevention purposes, if your billing and shipping addresses are different, we must verify your shipping address. Please contact the bank that issued your credit card and have your shipping address listed as an alternate address in that bank's memo field. Please make sure your credit card issuer bank's phone number is correctly listed in your Newegg.com account information.
Thats such an unbelievably stupid policy. Most banks wont even let you do that, as is the case with mine. Its so retarded that when they prompt you to have a different shipping address from the billing address, they should have a popup telling you, "Did you know that if you change the shipping address from the billing address we'll bend you over and fuck you savagely?" No, i didnt know that! THANKS FOR TELLING ME!

So now our only option is to have the shipping address be my home, and hope I can put it together without it exploding.

Yeah it can be annoying, most sites tell you there will be delays if your shipping is different from billing. Ive had a site deny my card because my billing address had a PO box on it and shipping didnt, same address otherwise. I just ordered from another site.
