Which fans, the case fans? Make sure those are plugged in. If it's the CPU fan, I know the core2duos don't start up when you power on (freaked me out my first time) so that's normal. It'll start up later once things get going. If it's your vid card fan, is there a really really loud continuous beep? Make sure you have a separate power cord going straight into your card (should stick in on the side) because the 8800gt needs to draw more power than the pci-e bus can give it. I'm pretty sure it's a 6-pin connector in a 3x2 configuration.

Wow, this sounds really familiar. With two examples of people who failed to get the right power supply only 1 week apart, I'm sure nobody else will make this mistake.

Make sure you have all the power hookups. There's the main power connector but most have an extra that I usually forget about.

Just an update, conscript helped me out last night (everyone give him rep and/or sexual favors) and I got pretty much all the hardware sorted out. It posts with all the fans running.

I also just realized that I put the wrong heatsink in. When I took the CPU out of the box I saw THEIR heatsink, and I put that on without realizing I had actually bought a totally different heatsink. So when I get some time ill have to probably take out the intel one and put in the rosewill heatsink. Hopefully that wont be too difficult :/

Past that I just need to figure out what I did wrong to make the reset button the power button, and why the power button doesn't do anything. I thought that was hilarious. Then I gotta install windows, drivers, blah blah blah.

You should leave the reset button as the power button. That way only your leetness will be able to use the computer.

Easy to do - I hate those damn little small tabs that you have to fit on those damn little small prongs that are always labeled like crap.

Switching heat sinks can be a bit messy since you need to clean the top of the CPU of the old thermal grease first. There's plenty of guides on line how to do that, just be patient and careful.

As for power switch and reset switch, check to see if your motherboard came with a guide connector... it's a little piece you plug all the fiddly bits into first. Then once you've made sure everything is hooked up to the right spot, you just plug the whole thing into the mobo. Much easier than trying to do it directly onto the board while it's in the case.

Yep. Install this 3-pin connector onto the right 3 pins on this block of 16 pins. Oh and make sure you point it the right way.

My most recent motherboard came with a special interface block so that you could plug all of the wires into one place before connecting it to the mobo. It's a decent solution to the mess, but I would rather see them standardize the case interface. One cable from case to board would be much better.

One thing I learned last nite talking with Santa is easy tasks are extremely difficult for him. He is still stuck with the front panel connectors. Luv him though no matter what.
