Default Vista's on the fritz, various bug fixes needed

Okay, here's a list. (note that all of these only started happening after Vista shoehorned SP1 into itself):

1. Firefox- complete disconnections (click a link and it'll go to the same screen as about:blank, but not load at all, the bar stays empty. Need reboot to fix).

2.Firefox process doesn't end without reboot. (see picture)

3.Am I meant to have this many host thingys(see picture)?
My network is:
Me+2 others---->router----->net. I am connected via WMP to one of the two others with a sharing folder.

4.THIS one's weird; none of the start menu shutdown buttons work, not one, even the big fat red one or the padlock. If I need to turn it off I have to hold down the power button. Which leads to the safe mode screen.

Picture:

EDIT: Okay that pic's crap for some reason, basically the top 3/4 highlighted are all firefoxes (with no actual firefoxes running), and the bottom 12 are 'Host process for windows services'

That's all I can think of for now, although I might run into more.

As for the power, you have to do this:

The red power button puts it to sleep (you can change this in Control Panel, Power Options), and the padlock, well, locks it. Its backasswards and it annoys me, but I suppose it gets the job done...

If you have any more problems with that, feel free to PM me. As for Firefox, my home computer for some reason started doing that before I installed SP1. Come to think of it, I still haven't done that yet, but all I did was restart it using that little menu in the start menu, and then it was fine-ish.

It is normal to have lots of svchost.exe processes around; they're all doing different things.

It's not normal to have lots of firefoxes around, kill them.

You can change what the button does in the power settings somewhere. By default it does 'hybrid-sleep' which puts the computer into low-power sleep for a little bit, and eventually hibernates the computer (and powers off completely). Personally I think it works well, but for people used to micromanaging their computers you have to get used to it.

When I said ALL the buttons I mean ALL the buttons, if I click ANY of the shut-down related buttons nothing happens.

I can kill all of them bar one which is always on (after I start firefox once), until I reboot- even if there are no firefoxes open. If I click the end proccess button, again, nothing happens.

For anyone that finds this on a search, you can change what the power buttons do in Start-->Control Panel-->System and Maintenance-->Under 'power options' there is an option to change what the power buttons do.

Well, looks like Brutus his internet is so fudged right now, he even had to get me to write this for him. This is what he asked me to post:

Okay, this firefox thing is really getting on my tits. Every few hours it just storms off in a huff and decides not to work. It just loads forever, and never reaches 2%. Even on cached pages. I've tried re-downloading Firefox but it keeps dying before I can. Any ideas?
