    Angry Memory Died Again

So I know not everyone remembers my tread on my computer being down back in Dec through Feb of this year.

My memory went belly up again. Same series of MObo form ASUS.

    I am using:
    OCZ2N1066SR2GK on a PK5SE mobo and E8200

At default settings... as a matter of fact I put the settings in my self and they are correct. I am so PISSED ABOUT THIS. REALLY PISSED. I HAVE RIGHT MIND TO GET MY RMA AND SELL THE NEW MEMORY ON EBAY AND INVEST IN CORSAIR. (Sorry for the title caps ~PISSSED~)

Anyway, my question is, is my OC processor causing this? Even if I manually change the memory timers so that it clocks at its designated 1066 - 5-5-5-15? The only thing OCed is my CPU. I manually set the video card and memory so they did not get killed by the multiplier.

Had you increased the volts to the memory or CPU?

Nope... I don't wanna fry it... I want them replaced. The default is 2.1V... Max is 2.3V. The guy from the RMA department said they don't warranty voltage burn outs... oNe piece has completly failed the other is giving errors under MEMTEST 86 +

I'm not sure if messing with timings can cause damage to memory. I've heard that the volts are what you really have to keep an eye on though. You might want to watch your temps too - it may be possible that pumping your timings brought up the temps? Possible?

As an aside, you don't get much performance increase by boosting mem timings, so were I you, I'd leave them stock. In fact, I've stopped OCing everything across the board - the random CTDs and crashes just weren't worth the extra 2FPS.

That is funny I lost a GB of memory last Friday, so I am down to 2GB. OCZ also, the second time I have RMA this RAM back to them. They have always been great about it.

I dont OC anything either, have not in years... never was worth the gain, IMO.

    Quoted for absolute truth.

Unless you're gonna OC you're processor by like a ghz there isn't much point.

I OC'd my processor from 2.33 Ghz to 3.5Ghz... yeah... worth it for the processor... and for the last time I set my memory manually to stock. STOCK. I had to tell the OZC RMA guy the same thing twice. STOCK.

I am glad OCZ has a good RMA department unlike ASUS. My crap took a month to get back from them because of the weather conditions and vacations everyone in their department was taking.
