Thread: Novint Falcon Controller

I saw one of these in a mall store today. Unfortunately, they didn't have a working floor model of it. The pimply sales associate told me that it comes with a pistol grip attachment and claims it's better than a mouse.

A have a ton of questions that remains unanswered that I hope someone here can answer:

*Is my hand/arm/wrist going to fall off after playing for 3-6 hours straight?
*Is the pistol grip attachment really worth getting?
*Is it durable? I was a bit concerned that their floor model did not work.
*Am I able to use the mouse/controller concurrently within a game?
*Does it function well as a "joystick"?

Tell me how you like it overall and if it's worth buying.

I was being sarcastic. 99% of people would never of heard of the Falcon. I have not used, nor seen one personally. Over a year ago someone was trying to figure how she was supposed to use a Max tool with it. I had to look it up then, and nobody else replied to her cries for help. I would say that it is so rare, you might want to look for a forum of CG artists and ask if any might have used it. Looking now, the Falcon is around 160 bucks, when she said she paid 200 for hers.

I have heard artists say they use their Wacom tablet to game with. I have had mine for 3 or4 years, it works great for certain tasks, but I still prefer to use a mouse to work with... I still have the joystick I used back in the 1942 days, yet have found it easier to fly with a mouse with practice. The Falcon looks like it would be great for flying, and other games, although I dont know how the twitch skills would work out in a FPS game. I would like to try the pistol grip, play HalfLife2 again, I bet I would be all over the place. :/

I never hear of this thingy till the BF2 patchnoted recently told me "now with support for Falcon!"
