    Question 360 Freezing - Warranty

My DVD player on my 360 keeps freezing and I think it's not going to fix itself. I've seen the red light of death appear off and on. Anyone gone thru the warranty process with a 360? Bought mine about two years ago.

Well I haven't because mine never officially RRoD'd. One of my buddies did though and said that if you have 3 red lights around the ring of light and call Microsoft and tell them, they will send you a box, you send it in, and they either fix it or send you a new one. All you do is keep your hard drive (and I'm not sure if you have to pay for the shipping).

There are lens cleaners that you can buy for DVD players, is it possible you have dust on the lens? There are DVD lens cleaners that are cheap, basically a dvd with a beard, that may be a quick fix.

Hmmm..good idea. Though it has frozen when in the XBL lobby. Worth a try though.

I'm dreading another warranty battle with a large multi-national corporation i.e. Dell.

Microsoft isn't too bad with red ringing otherwise I don't know. If it red rings you should be able to send it in for free.

You could just hit up craiglist in your area and find a guy that will fix it for $50 if the warranty doesn't hold. It's not that hard - the solder just gets runny and needs to be re set.

Put it under a blanket for a few hours and then send it in for RROD repair. I understand MS is very prompt with fixing those.
