single player (spoilers)
Only read if youve beaten it.
So is anyone else in agreement with me that the entire game up to the part where you enter the cave is fun, and the rest of the game sucks donkey balls? I loved fighting in the jungle, avoiding the patrols, choosing which people to kill and which not to. Fun stuff. And then I get inside the alien cave where its linear and im not shooting those fucking Koreans anymore. Then you get outside in the snow, still no koreans. Get on the carrier, do some mindless jobs without even killing anyone, fight a huge monster that hardly even attempts to hurt me, then fight a giant spaceship mother fucker who again, hardly tries to hurt me.
With all that said, ill still buy the sequel (supposed to be a trilogy) because I imagine there will still be plenty of human combat. But they havent seemed to learn from Far Cry that nobody likes the linear battles against non human things. Far Cry was fun up until those bear like creatures were fighting, but at least you were still killing humans sometimes. It got REALLY dull at the end when there were no humans and just waves of those bear like things. Now they repeated the same thing, but a tad worse because the alien combat was significantly longer than the bear combat from far cry.

Yea I agree. Still a really fun game though. Tons of user made content available for it already also.

Just started playing the single player, I'm a little passed where your CO gets taken away, seems almost identical to Far Cry so far.

Ok, I know I'm really, really late to the party here, but I just beat the game and was left yelling out loud "WHAT THE FUCK?" when the credits starting rolling. I didn't expect it to just stop right where it did.
Anyone hear anything about when the next chapter is coming?

I overall thought the crysis was a bit of let down so... The story was pretty bland and uninteresting, and I totally agree that the combat took a plummet when you got to the alien ship. The ship was interesting at first but then it just got annoying, and do not get me started on the vehicle sequences I wanted to kill a puppy when I was flying that carrier. The engine is great though and the basic combat is fun, although the suit systems are stupid because on normal or hard you are paper thin without the armor mode and the other modes drain you so fast they are near worthless. Stealth is fun though. I think if you just had the parts fighting the koreans expanded on and lengthened the game would have been great.

What and where did you find a good reality mod? I haven't found anything that I like yet?

crymod my friend! It really makes the game a ton more fun. Bullets more damaging, suit more balanced, etc.

Just finished - like to take my time I really enjoyed Crysis and had even a better time playing Warhead. The action and pacing seemed to be upped from Crysis. Environments, cockroaches, vehicles, aliens, weapons, AI, cut scenes, voice acting are all so well done. No one can tell me that section riding the train was not fun as hell. Crytek has a great franchise on it's hand.
They did such an excellent job of making the game be played in so many ways: stealth, run and gun, combination of both, in vehicles, on foot. It's one of the few FPS that is different every time you play. I played on the hardest setting which I thought was tough. Good times. Can't wait to see how it goes playing again.
