Breaking Bad (Spoilers)
So I just watched the season 2 finale of Breaking Bad. Personally, I thought it was a horrible ending to an otherwise really amazing TV show. Anyone else agree?
Obviously, the ending had gigantic religious overtones. Its obviously pretty implausible that the father of Walt's partner's girlfriend would be too stressed out to do his air traffic controller job and two planes would suddenly crash into eachother right over the top of Walt right after his argument with Skyler. That simply does not happen in the real world. Now of course, this is TV--shit doesnt normally go down like it does in the real world. However, the entire show had been deeply rooted in realism, science, and consequence. The show was definitely geared towards a certain demographic.
By having this ridiculous ending that doesnt make any sense in the real world, the writers are basically telling the viewer that if you rely too much on science, inevitably God will strike you down. And to that, I say fuck you Vince Gilligan.

I had the same issue with the ending as I did with the series "Damages" where by the time they get to the finale you have seen the goddam reveals of the final scene so many times that you are sick of it and rather than being something that you are looking forward to it turns into something you just want to get out of the way so you don't have to see any more "glimpses".
Also I found myself wanting to drop kick Skyler about 80% of the time throughout this series.

Its not so much the glimpses themselves that pissed me off, but that it went in a totally retarded direction that wouldn't need glimpses to explain it anyway. By seeing the glimpses of body bags coming out of Walt's house, you are left to wonder who is in the body bags. Skyler? Junior? Hank? By having the body bags being random people from a fucking AIRPLANE there is no reason at all for them to have given us glimpses of it. I do not care about the random people on that plane.
By the way, I read online that if you put together some of the episode titles, it reads like this. "seven-thirty-seven" "down" "over" "ABQ". If only there were any reason what so ever for anyone to put those together and come to the conclusion that, yes, a plane IS in fact going to explode over Walt's head. Its really the only logical conclusion given what we have seen.

It was a strange finale, but it is a strange show.
I don't think it was religious. It was just a continuation of the theme of the show. Every time Hank sacrifices his morals on the journey toward his unreachable goal, unexpected shit lands on him.
If that's part of a religion, that is some seriously messed up deity.

The creator actually mentioned that the finale was "Lucifer ex machina" and "a cosmic indictment of Walt's actions this season."
Heh, and really, what in the bible could lead anyone to believe that God wouldnt be like that? Hes one vengeful mother fucker.
