Been reading various gaming sites that a Demo might be ready next week (?). If not MP than certainly a single player portion.

I hope they have a demo. I was going to preorder the game but I really want to try a demo before plunking down any cash.
MP Demo will be out tomorrow, Thursday 2/4 on Steam:

Oh my God.
Those 2 modes look fucking awesome. Innovative and should make for some amazing and intense scenarios, where you work together with your teammates while still competing with them. I can imagine the fear in the last 2 in infestation. Will they fight together and fend off the aliens as much as possible, or fight alone and hope they can outlast the other? Perhaps SEGA have rediscovered how to make good games again.
Are there other MP modes?
I think the other two MP modes are DeathMatch and Swarm(?) where your holding off waves of Aliens.
Predator Hunt and Infestation look to be where it's at for team play.
Most of what you need to knowe on the game:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1080669
Multiplayer modes:
- Death Match: If you love a game with frantic, brutal chaos then Death Match in AVP multiplayer is for you. It’s all about getting the most kills in the time limit set. Players can also win the match by hitting the target score before anyone else.
- Infestation: For total over-whelming mayhem, nothing comes close to the tension and potential for pant-wetting scenarios than INFESTATION. One player starts the match as an Alien Hunter and their task is to kill the Marine prey. When a Marine player is killed they will join the Alien Hunter team and help to kill off any remaining Marines.
- Mixed Species Deathmatch: Just like Death Match, but with mixed species. Two teams, made up from all three species fight to get the most kills in the set time limit or to reach the target score before the other team.
- Survivor (co-op): For the ultimate test of stamina, play Survivor Mode. Survivor allows for up to four players to enter an arena to fight waves of progressively stronger aliens. Each arena will be set up with two main areas. One will be a platform which is relatively easy to defend; the other will be an area where ambush by aliens is more likely. Supplies of health and ammo will re-spawn in this second area.
- Predator Hunt: If you’re after a more stealthy multiplayer game go for Predator Hunt. In this mode one player is selected to become the Predator Hunter, the rest of the players take the role of the Marine prey. The Hunter must use the Predator’s stealth abilities and advanced equipment to pick off the prey and score points. The Marines will need to defend themselves from this threat and if possible, to kill the Hunter.
- Species Deathmatch (old-style Team Deathmatch): Species Death Match pits a Marine team, Alien team and Predator team against each other in a race to get the most kills within the set time limit or to reach the target score before any of the other teams.
Up to 6 players per team.- Domination: Take capture the flag to a whole new level with Domination. In Domination two teams fight for ownership of Control Points around the level. Owning a Control Point gives the team a small and steady, stream of points. The more Control Points owned, the more that team scores. A team will win when their score has reached 100 points.
"Typical control point game type, but split by species. Kill, capture, defend. The points glow in the color of your species, so you can see which points are yours from a decent distance." (thanks TheCheshire)
Demo is now up on Steam!
Cheers Zoopy.
And wow, that's a lot of variation in game modes, although a few are just repeats of deathmatch, all will be worth a look for the different species alone, since they will add a different dimension to the standard mode. I'll be anticipating your guys' reviews.
Played a few rounds. Pretty fun. They certainly nailed the feel of the characters in the movies. Feels right. Not really a DeathMatch player but it was perhaps the least DeathMatch game mode I've played. I was lasting a few minutes rather than seconds. Species seemed to be working together. Think players assumed you couldn't attack similar species. The other game modes will probably interest more players here at Focused.
I got a headache playing an Alien as it's pretty disorienting as you can climb everything and move upside down, etc. They got the Pulse rifle right for the Marines. Staying together as Marines equals longer life. Marines have the distance advantage it seems with their weapons. Aliens the surprise. Need to play the Predator.
Trophy kills are cool but need to be done with caution as your vulnerable. Got killed a few times that way.
So far so good. Anxious to play the other modes as I want more team play.
