I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one. FFoW feels like a very rough beta. At least 2142 had VOIP!
And these THQ/KAOS fuckers screwed up. This game needed way more time.

After seeing those patch notes, my hope for this game has taken a huge hit.
There is no excuse for the DEV's to have the game be out over a month and that is the latest patch? It's fine if there weren't so many glaring issues to fix, but since there are, that fails miserably.
Judging by the downward trend in an already small population and this patching cycle, I think we're still offically on the look-out for the next great game.

Yep, not happy. I'm starting to feel that my $50 purchase was in vain. Damn me for buying a game at launch again without waiting for reviews.

No VOIP is a huge deal, yes- it's obvious THQ/Kaos focused on the XBox 360 to the exclusion of the PC, since the crap parts of FFOW on the PC are the parts which are part of the XBox dev kit. But apart from the grenade launcher balance issue, the bad server browser and the missing VOIP, the game actually isn't that buggy. When 2142 came out it crashed constantly. Being able to play for more than an hour uninterrupted was a feat.

Eventually, everyone will be as jaded as me.
For the record, I probably would have jumped on this game too if I thought my system would handle it well enough. It looks good in videos, and I still hope that they decide to fix it up.

They need to further optimize the game as well. I was able to play the beta after some adjusting but people are scooting around on the screen now in the release. My computer could handle Crysis on mediums but not FFOW on low apparently. Instead of optimizing from the beta to the release, it seems that they found ways to move in the other direction. No voip is a killer, gun inaccuracy is a killer, bunnyhopping is annoying, the noob tube is ridiculous and the squad interface is amatuerish. I had high hopes for FFOW and contine to think they will fix it, but so far I am less then impressed.

I'm having the same problem, there was no appreciable difference in dropping the settings from Medium to Low.
