Default Totals playing right now

I count a total of 305 people playing this game right now. It might not be dead yet, but it's pretty damn close.

I did, but it is Patriots Day. I don't think there's a lot of states that celebrate it, but mine does. 305 Globally, though; at 6:30 here, a fair amount are home, and all the kiddies have been out of school for hours, GMT would be 11:30, close to prime ime for Brits. I think 305 at the lowest point would be a sign of death, nevermind 6:30.

I fear that this game is merely the harbinger of a dismal near future for PC gaming. The untimely demise of FFOW on the PC is largely due to the disinterest on the part of either Kaos, or THQ in investing any real resources into supporting the platform. And I see the same attitude from other game companies too, as they obsess over their console releases. :-(

At best we get games that are months late on the PC... at worse we get games that are functionally incomplete and stillborn. :-(

In the partial defense of PC gaming Kaos also made BF:Vietnam which FFoW is tracing the lifespan of pretty quickly. I feel stupid for not catching that earlier.

The only thing this game taught me was that I have ridiculously high expectations and a ridiculously short attention span. Actually I sort of knew that.

Kaos had nothing to do with Battlefield Vietnam. They did a mod for 1942 (Desert Combat) and did some testing for Battlefield 2. Kaos (formerly Trauma Studios) was bought by DICE in September 2004, which is six months after Vietnam was released. DICE Canada did Vietnam.
