Default Hit detection test results

We ran some hit detection tests tonight. The results surprised me a little. Let's just say I am going to have to come up with a new excuse for why I can't hit anything.

Thanks to everyone who helped out.

Yeah the weapons certainly are very accurate. However, if you spray and just hold down that mouse button, the deviation seems huge.

I'm running an 8800GTS right now. I've got most settings pretty high in FFoW and it looks pretty good. I haven't had a chance to torture test it on a really busy server with airstrikes and vehicles flying all over the place yet so I may end up needing to turn it down a bit to keep those FPS up there.

We should do some accuracy tests as well: Basically have 1v1's over and over again and see what works best.

Do you mean start at a predefined range with diff weps standing still and see who dies first?

More like one person tries to evade for as long as he can whilst another shoots him, then switch it up. Give everyone some clean practice at hitting targets, see if headshots are worthwhile at close range, how to evade when getting shot at.

I've been a big fan of The Headstones for a long time, so I recognized his voice right away. I wish I had seen them more than once when they were touring endlessly.

Now the one thing that you guys didn't comment on in your tests, and probably the most important thing, is whether the hit indicator was correct. That was the big complaint in BF2, was that hits were indicated when they weren't happening.
