Thats why its best to put it around a corner or something, where it has no chance to shoot at range.

If at all possible, try to coordinate an implacement (rail/grenade/whatever...) with a second man as a spotter. A two man team on defense with one of these implacements would be optimal if you had your spotter pointing out targets, covering your angles and firing back at snipers trying to pick you off.
