Question So, who has actually bought FFoW?

We've already seen a do you plan to buy FFOW topic and there was a good amount of people who said they were going to buy it, but now I'm more interested in who actually did. I was quite interested in this game myself, but having seen a couple of videos and changelists from the beta, as well as the bad reviews so far, I'm quite sure I'm going to skip on this one.
I'd like to hear from you if you've bought it or going to do so in the next few days, maybe weeks. (And I'll be comparing it to the do you plan to buy it topic) I've also included a poll, so make sure to vote as well

A 'Still undecided, waiting to see how it turns out' option might be useful.

Good idea. I'll add that once I find out how to edit my poll...

I bought it. Had a good time running around with Jepzilla, Ikonic, L1on, and a couple others tonight. To be honest I haven't read any reviews, didn't play the beta, or had any preconcieved notions about this game except that it was going to be like BF2. I'm not disappointed so far. I expect them to get voip up and running soon. The bugs with their servers IS annoying though. I haven't noticed any bugs in the game that were too critical so far. Once I did get in, it was fine. The only thing I had to do was turn off the artifacts to make it run smoother.

Downloaded from Steam today.

3 hour download. Super fast speeds and a seamless install. Started the game, maxed all my settings and loaded up single player. Worked perfectly.

Loaded up multi player, servers showed up fast and I sorted by ping. Joined one of the KAOS CA servers and loaded in without a hitch. Hit rego was reasonable and gameplay was smooth. Not a single bug to report.

Having said that, I run a bare-bones XP system which isn't loaded to the gills with pron or spyware and is well-maintained. I defrag weekly and make sure I've got plenty of free space. My drivers are up to date as well. I have the feeling that the people who are having problems are either running old systems, are unkind to their computers or running that AIDS-riddled Vista crap.

Yea I've had the game since release and not had any problems. Then again, I never am the guy that has any of these problems you see on game forums.

Although, while my games always start and play without a hitch, I do tend to have rather catastrophic part failures at times. Like that one time black smoke started pouring out the back of my PC when my motherboard caught fire.

For a period of about an 1 hour and half yesterday. I couldn't get into a game online with any of the running servers. It worked fine earlier in the day so I reloaded, played single player, reloaded and woalaaa it worked-albeit later than I was hoping for. That's the only bug I've experienced so far. I haven't had a problem loading on to a server since.

I was gonna hold out for a bit to see how things panned out, but went ahead ang grabbed FFOW on Steam last night. Fired it up this morning and it worked fine through about the first 2 minutes of the first single-player mission - then it CTD'd.

Started it again, and got through that and the next several missions with no problems, so hopefully that was just a small hiccup.

I didn't touch the Beta so went into this cold - and like it quite a lot so far. I'm quite pleased with the performance on my rig. I've got a 2.5 GHz dual-core Opteron, X1950 Pro on AGP, 2 Gigs of RAM running XP, and things were nice and smooth at 1680x1050 at the default settings. It looks very good, and doesn't have that much aliasing so I'm not as bothered by it not having AA support as I thought I would be.

Remember to turn your Foliage setting all the way down.
