Thumbs up Iron Man

Just back from a screening of Iron Man held at a local theather the Aero here in town. The screening was a benefit as it's sort of a non-profit art house theather. The director John Favorae was there and he introduced the movie. Then he introduced Robert Downey Jr. who came on the stage. Kind of a cool surprise.

They both spoke. Downey is a funny guy. He went to high school here in Santa Monica and said he remembers going to the Aero theather and smoking a bong before watching a movie. The director thanked everyone for coming out and supporting the theather then Downey chimed in and said he wouldn't bother saving the building and would just use it to house all his cars.

Anyway, it's nice to see a comic book adapted in such a well crafted story, with good characters, dialogue and action. I thought it was better than any of the Spider Man movies. I'd like to see a series come out of this. That probably will happen given how good it was.

I'm pretty excited about this movie. Comes out normally tomorrow, but I don't know if I'll be able to catch it.

Well, if I knew anyone in the nearby area, I would've gone with them. Instead, a bunch of us went, and it was a-fucking-mazing. Highly recommend. 9 thumbs up.

Man, I'm not so sure about taking a 16 year old kid to the movies. Isn't that... you know, too Tybalty?

Anyway, I'm watching it with a friend tonight (hopefully). I live in the suburbs, so the lines for the movie shouldn't be too long. Here's to hoping I don't get a crappy theater.

I saw it this afternoon, and I absolutely loved it. To me, it's one of the best comic adaptations so far.
