Default The X-Files - I Want To Believe

I thought the show The X-Files was stupid and just all around weird. They made a movie during the run of the series which looked awful. Well now, they're making a second movie.

What is up with these companies remaking their old, tired out franchises? Plus, I only knew it was coming out next month because there was something on the 10 o'clock news about it. What's the deal?

It's been getting advertised for at least a couple of months now. But this is all a matter of opinion - if you were a fan you are going to rejoice the revival, if you disliked it you're going to think it's stupid. I liked the show (yes it was weird-for me that's a plus- but I don't agree with "stupid"), so I'm at least somewhat interested in this film, probably rent it when it comes out on DVD. I was surprised to hear they tapped this one though, I must admit.

Remaking tired, old franchises? Someone smelled $. And frankly, I'm sure there will be enough of it for them upon release.

You are 16. You know nothing.

The X-files has a good sized cult following. Why not make a movie?

The X-Files is awesome. And they're not "remaking a franchise", they're continuing the story which still has a lot of loose ends. Seriously, it's pretty easily the best dramatic show of the 90s, I'd be disappointed if they didn't continue it in some form or another.

All you turbo nerds can wear your tinfoil hats to the theatre on opening night and discuss how hot scully (or muldur, depending on preference) is while you wait in line .
