Diablo II

Has anyone playing this game started nightmare difficulty yet? I have conquered the dastardly creatures from the pits of hell but in this new world I am getting my ass handed to me by "fallen" critters.

I would like some help for my assassin. I am playing a legit, no hand me down, character using only equipment I've personally found (meaning the game is challenging).

I'm ladder with a 25 Paladin, but I'm probably not playing him with anyone besides a friend I'm trying to get through all three modes with.

My other Paladin, 44, is in non-Ladder, and can decently handle NM Act 1, but I think around level 50 is kind of the baseline for Nightmare (as far as I remember).

If you're non-ladder, I could try to give you a hand, but if you're ladder, I might make a new character and try to catch up.

There should be guidelines. If there were (about ladder/non-ladder, us west/east, etc.) I would definitely try to hunt down my LoD CD Key.

I do miss playing nightmare with my necromancer. wish I still had all my D2 stuff. oh well.

Oh, bummer, I'm US West. I guess you'll have to battle the legions of hell alone for now. I will suggest a few Baal runs to build the levels though.

Act I nightmare difficulty is doable for a few classes by level 35 or so (namely paladin, barb, and zon). probably finding someone online to duo it is your best bet. oh and watch out for pitspawn fouldog in the jail, my paladin died quite a bit to him.

I am level 35. I can manage fine it is just slow going.

I'm a Level 21 Barb, Non-ladder US East. I'm currently on Act 3 of normal difficulty.

I'd suggest Normal Baal runs until 40ish, at the earliest, simply because the amount of exp you get on the way to Baal from the waypoint on level 2 of the... uh... whatever it's called (final waypoint in Act 5) is damn near enough for 3/4 of a level each run. Ideally you didn't hop into the portal to let you get to Nightmare yet, so you can see games where everyone is running Baal so you can get more experience from the runs, though you have to sacrifice the loot from Baal that drops in a multiple-person party, unless you grab fast enough.

That said, if you're looking to cruise through without calling on the aid of pubs, it'd still probably help int he long run to stay in normal for a while, to build your supply of skills/equipment/potions.

I'm moving into Act 3 NM soon, but another friend wants to play hardcore, so I might start another character. All this D2 is making me incredibly turned on for D3.
