Default Hellboy 2

Just got back from seeing this.

From Character design to story this movie was Grade A all the way

You enjoy the banter and behaviour of them all. from hellboy's additude to the Prince's point of view. you get the feeling they really wanted to deliver their characters sense of purpose. the only down side is the female character Liz Sherman played by Selma Blair. While the character has developed from the first one you get the feeling they wanted to push her out there and dammit you'll like it. they introduce a new character played by Seth MacFarlane who first feels stapled on but does find its niche rather fast.

The Special effects were top notch. some of the comedy feels padded but doesnt detour from the movie.

all and all: Go see it in theaters, you'll enjoy it. plus with Batman out it wont be crowded.

i didn't enjoy this movie that much. It was okay, i suppose. But in both of the hellboy movies, I didn't find myself really liking Liz (the female lead). The fight scenes were fine. I'd give it a B-.

I'm probably gonna watch this at some point (although it comes out later here). Its got an incredibly high Tomatometer, especially for that kind of movie (CG/hero). I've heard a lot of good things about it too.

I liked it a lot, but not as much as the first one. The first one has just a brilliant pulp comic atmosphere about it, what with the main villains being Nazis and Rasputin. This one was much more of a pure fantasy film, which isn't as much my thing. So it was good, but not as good as its predecessor.

The first was a dumb movie that tried to sell itself on glitzy CG effects (like most 'action' movies of the early 2000s). This one actually had a plot, and even character development! This has been my biggest and most pleasant surprise of the year, so far.

I can't help but like Hellboys 'I don't give a crap' attitude. The same story wouldn't have been that good if it wasn't for that.

I thought this movie was a step back from the first. While the humor was decent, the venture in faerie land just didn't seem to fit. We expected some "fantastic" monsters, but not entire hidden civilizations in the open.
