Having spent most of my life in the US with almost 2 in Germany along with a good bit of world traveling I have found that at least 50% of what is said about Americans by other nations is hypocritical ignorant bullshit. I may rant about what he says but I do find it pretty funny. It all works out in the end when you know that England is sinking and us Scots will prevail.

Anyone been watching/ or seen the miniseries Generation Kill on HBO?
Its a true story. About a reporter who is embedded with the 1st Recon Marine Battalion in Iraq. Its all right. There are some pretty funny and interesting characters in it. Including "Fruity Rudy" Reyes, one of the actors/soldiers who plays himself in the show. The show mainly focuses on the HumVee the reporter rides in, and the four other soldiers in it. It depicts a lot of the fucked up shit that happened in the war, lots of accidental death of innocents, sometimes not so accidental, the bureaucracy of the military in all kinds of ways.
Over all, it is a pretty good show, better than reality TV.

Interesting Generation Kill observation - look at the driver of the humvee that the reporter is riding around in. Look familiar? I didn't place him until after the 4th episode.

Ok so after reading this I grabbed the first 2 seasons of Weeds. It started out ok but it seemed to get worse and worse the more I watched. The season 2 finale left me wanting to kick a hole in my tv.
The characters are all obnoxious and petty. I keep hoping for them to get shot or arrested. The only good thing about this series is Kevin Nealon who is hilarious.

The characters are supposed to be like that, it's one of the key elements of the show. For me, it isn't a great show, but it has moments of greatness.

Seinfeld chars were self absorbed and petty but they also had redeeming qualities. These characters have no redeeming qualities. I don't want to watch them anymore because I don't like them.

Arrested Development is the only show you ever need to watch. Okay, maybe Top Gear too. I always love their long segments where they just have fun with stuff.

Picked up the first season of Thirty Rock, and it's pretty good. With a lineup of Tina Fey and Tracey Morgan, it's pretty much Saturday Night Live reincarnated during primetime. And good.

Arrested Development and The Wire were definitely my fav. shows over the last few years. I'm not watching anything on a regular basis at the moment. I haphazardly started watching Sunny in Philly and love it but I don't know when it comes on (I know I can look it up or DL it but I'm lazy). Other than that, I'm forced to watch So you Think You Can Dance or The Hills w/the gf. Oh and Deadliest Catch. I love that show.
