As far as comedian newscasters go, I would list him in the top 5 comedian newscasters for entertainment along with George Carlin's weatherman, Dennis Miller off of SNL's Weekend Update, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. But most trusted man, no way. The guy is a muppet and is slanted to the left which is clear to all those but with blinders on. Let's be honest, the last 2 years had the least effective congress in history and it's rarely touched on in his show.

The "Most Trusted" phrase probably belong to Tim Russert, may he rest in peace. Unfortunately, news organizations are all based around tragedy TV in order to keep viewers.

Well it is kind of hard to make fun of the Democratic majority when they only have it by one seat and that guy is an independent who may speak at the Republican National Convention.

Hmm... I recall 2 Legislative houses. Regardless, their ability to pass spending bills is a joke. It seemed to me that they were more interested in renaming post offices than working together. You don't need a clear majority to work together on legislation. You certainly don't need a majority in order to make jokes out of people who make a career of purposeful inactivity.

Secondly the Republicans (not the Democrats, at least no more so then their usual shenanigans) are enacting stalling tactics right now because a productive legislature contrasting with an intensely unpopular executive would get them all murdered in the election. So it's kind of hard to make a right slanted joke on that one.

Case and point if you could make a right slanted joke then their would be a conservative version of the Daily Show.
