I love my 5.1 Turtle Beach headphones. They have passthrough connections that allows you to use both desktop speakers and your headphones without cable swapping.

Great quality, durability, long cable, etc...

I got that exact one myself as well. In comparison to the cheap ones I've owned before (see #2 post in this thread) it's just 500% better. The sound quality is superb and the mic does its job. With a price of about 40-50 euros it's also very affordable.

Fun Fact:

These are the headsets used by NHL referees at the Bell Center in Montreal in order to talk to the replay reviewers in Toronto.

You all realize you are replying to a thread brought back by Icky.

might as well..
For years I used cheaper stereo headsets and on board sound.. then broke down and got a decent sound card and a really good surround sound headset.
Huge difference in games, at least games like COD4 with surround sound.

It seems like my Logitech 350 is dead. After the death of my Logitech 250 and my Logitech 350 with only 2 years of regular use on each, I'm going to have to take back my recommendation for Logitech headsets. There seems to be an issue with their circuitry. It worked great until I needed to plug it in and unplug it a few times.

I still love USB for headsets due to the flexibility it offers. I'll probably get another new one soon.

Your headset lasted 2 years? Thats amazing. I destroy my headsets in about 6 months.
