Default My headset / mic took a dump, need advice

Morning,
As some of you have noticed my mic sucks ass and finally met it's end under my size 13 foot. I had a Plantronics DSP 500 which they quit supporting some time ago. I'm looking for another USB headset/mic. Anyone got some suggestions?
I have my soundcard running speakers and like to use the headset for gaming without doing any wire swapping and whatnot.
I'm looking on newegg but can't decide and wanted some suggestions...

thx all,
Stab

I'd say it depends on what quality and price you are looking for. The type of headset I always recommend is this. It costs under $10 and it works just fine. I got one of those myself too (not that exact one, but it's very similar) and it's been working for over 4 months now. That's about 2 months longer than the 2 Logitech headsets I've owned. The only downside with these is that the sound quality is not superb and I can imagine that one would like a more comfortable one. I've never had a really expensive headsets, though, so I don't now the real differences.
Another thing I'd like to point out that for the price of one expensive headsets, you can buy 5 of these. This is pretty nice, because if the wire of your headset breaks, your headset is worthless and you've lost $50+. With the cheapos you just buy another one for a very small amount of money.

I use the Logitech 350 USB headset and I like it quite a bit. I found the fit too tight at the start, but I've gotten used to it. The sound is good, and the mic is superb.

I don't see it at newegg.

I chose it because I previously had the older version of the Logitech 250 and it served me very well until it took a few too many accidents and stopped working. (I now think it might have stopped working because of a software problem, but it's a long story)

That looks like a good mic, but I'm a bit concerned about the 8' cord, considering I sit right next to my PC and sometimes roll over the cord. I don't suppose you can get a shorter cord?

How about a zip tie and bundle it to what ever length you want?
