Elite?
So, since we are having people beat the game already, who is planning on going another round on Elite level?
I'm wondering because I want to run through with a Guardian, but since Elite's can only trade and party with other Elites, I was thinking of waiting to see what our response level is. If no one wants to go for it, I'll push ahead with my Guardian on normal, otherwise I'll re-roll him once I finish the game with my Blademaster.
If anyone thinks the "normal" version can be a bit to easy at times, you should really at least try it on Elite. From the limited Beta experience I got with it, it should take away ANY thoughts of the game being too easy. Also, it really makes a team have to play and think together because you can get rolled in a heartbeat. Pet classes have to be especially careful that they don't aggro more than they can handle. For me, "normal" level is fine, though it does have times when it seems too much like a cake walk.
However, from my experience with Elite, it takes away that cushion. IE: Those times when you can be sloppy and still do ok without too much trouble.
So who's up for it?
Probably take me a few days to finish, but I'm game if a few others of you are.

Re: Elite?
I could be up for but I can only play weekends. I would roll a marksman or guardian.

Re: Elite?
I'd do it, although am not sure what class I'd play. My current Evoker style would get me creamed in elite. I'll probably go through normal with a Marksmen though, just to test it out.

Re: Elite?
Well, after doing some more research, I'm not sure if Elite is really the way to go at this time. The talk from the DEV's in Beta was that Elite mode would offer up better loot to compensate for the much harder difficulty, which is one of the main reasons why Elite players could only party and trade with other Elites. However, that doesn't seem to be the case now. Yes, the mode is much harder than normal, but the loot tables are basically the same.
Now I don't mind playing the game on "screw up and you're dead!" mode. But I would like to be rewarded for my efforts in the form or better drops. But as it stands now, that isn't the case.
I'm still interested in trying it out and I have a feeling that the loot tables will end up being adjusted like they originally stated. But until that point, is it worth the trouble to try and level up a character like that? Nightmare is a nice challenge in the mean time and I'm also game to run through again with a new batch of characters.
If some of you still want to give it a shot, then count me in as well. I just wanted to give you the heads up about the reward system before we got too far into it.

Re: Elite?
Elite != Hardcore, you can respawn in Elite. But yeah, I read the loot is the same which defeats the purpose. I'll probably hold off on doing elite since it seems Nightmare is preaty difficult as it is (according to Ultra).

Re: Elite?
I played elite last night up to level 7, my first kill I got a green drop, by level 3 I had a rare relic that did +13% damage and within about 20 mins I had seen 4 legendaries drop. It's definitely not the same loot as normal. It seems to be way more fun than nightmare to me. Everything moves faster, spawns in greater numbers etc. Thank god for harp pistols because it was the only thing keeping distance between me and some of the faster mobs.

Re: Elite?
I created this char last night. I may be just not remembering correctly but I don't remember having gear like this on normal. Check out the level req on the legendary focus item - req level 4(!!!). The bonuses on the chest piece are better than my level 30's chest piece. The only diff is the items have a lot less armour/shields.

Re: Elite?
Here's another one I just took now from the craft merchant. Do these look like level 7 pants to you?
