Hey everyone, I'd like to introduce you to the

FocusedGaming Official Best of the New Monument to Awesomeness awards

Created on November the 25th, 2007 by Tybalt, 2 months before FocusedGaming officially went online, currently with 665 replies, 13.971 views and a legendary amount of Awesome videos, the New Monument to Awesomeness thread is undoubtedly the most popular on the -F- forums. With so many videos, I'm sure everyone has seen at least a couple of videos that made you LYAO, that made you think or that you just can't forget.

Now, 9 months after the thread was created, you can tell all the others what you think was the most awesome video in the New Monument to Awesomeness thread!!

How does this work?

First off, there are the nominations. Every member of FocusedGaming is allowed to choose their one and only favourite NMTA video and post it up as a new thread in this forum. For each nominated video, others can vote if they like it or not (Awesome! / Not Awesome ). Please follow the template in the example nomination post. You post the video, a link to the post you are referring to and a poll with Yes / No as the options. Make sure votes are hidden in this poll and not multiple choice.
After two weeks, on September the 10th, we will view the nominated videos and the 10 videos with the most "Awesome!" votes, will make it through to the finals.
When it's determined which videos are going to the finals, a post will be created where you can only vote once. The video that gets the most votes here, will be the winner. You can't vote for your own video, though.

This video will officially be the Best of the New Monument to Awesomeness and will gain everlasting fame as well as an honorable mention on our frontpage!

What's in it for me?

Apart from the winning video getting a spot on the frontpage, there actually are other prizes to be won! If you nominated the winning video, you will receive one of the following prizes:

For the non Subscribers:

1st Prize: a 6 month -F- subscription
2nd Prize: a 4 month -F- subscription
3rd Prize: a 2 month -F- subscription

For the Subscribers:

1st Prize: $30 iTunes credit, a $30 Amazon gift certificate or up to a $30 Steam game gift.
2nd Prize: $20 iTunes credit, a $20 Amazon gift certificate or up to a $20 Steam game gift.
3rd Prize: $10 iTunes credit, a $10 Amazon gift certificate or up to a $10 Steam game gift.

Hmm... a binary Yes/No seems pretty limiting. Wouldn't a 1-10 scale of awesomeness be better at sussing out the truly awesome?

I agree with Beatnik, we should have a Hexadecimal voting system where people vote 0 to F on the videos, 0 being the lowest and F being the highest.

For the most likely very small amount of community members who understand hexadecimal.

It's just easier to count. Either it's awesome and worthy of a vote, or not. The most worthy make it through to the last 20.

Good point. Maybe we should try hex, but limit the maximum vote to 9.

What Bomm said. Remember these are only the nomination rounds right now, so even if a video gets all Awesome votes, it will not automatically be the winner.

Anyone who intends to post, please have a good read of the above rules. The posted item must be from the existing thread and you must link to the post in question. People are already exhibiting very low levels of awesome by failing to read
