R6v2, success?
Post your opinions, did R6V2 come out spotless, or was it a broken mirror?

I like the game so far, but it's far from perfect. I especially hate the amount of network lag there is and the lack of a ping system makes this even worse. I'm also disappointed I can only run the game at 800x600 with everything @ low or off when possible. CoD 4, for example, ran perfect at this machine at 1024x768 with everything @ high.
The multiplayer has major potential, but only when played with a team who actually cares about extracting the team leader/rescuing the hostages/etc. This is why I keep saying I'd love to have a -F- server.
Coop mode, however, is fantastic. If there's any game which is fun to play in coop with friends, this is the one.
BTW: Could you maybe change the poll to public? I'm interested to see who voted what

I voted for the third option. I wrote a big reply in the quick reply box but voting before I posted it made the page refresh....
Anyways, Ubisoft knew issues from the first game yet they are still in this game. The overall presentation is horrible. They did not bother to change the Xbox interface to make it more PC friendly. They kept the VOIP voice activated which is really crap on a PC. They said they would fix the Terrorist Spawn in and they didn't.
The game is good but there are a lot of issues that should not of been in this game based off the first one. Its too obvious that this is a console port.

I enjoy it quite a bit, the interface is lame as it does not translate so well onto the PC. Overall, I'm still happy and hope to have some more enjoyment out of it.

This game is awesome. Yes it is a port but most of the needed functionality is there. The only thing somewhat annoying is finding a multiplayer game.

Even though I have it for 360, I thought I'd chip in my two cents.
The thing about RSV2 is that it is a 60 dollar rebranded RSV1, only with a sprint button, but, for some reason, I like it a lot more. Although a few bugs do irk me. For instance, if you played the first one, you automatically get Private First Class, but the problem is that there is an achievement that you get for earning it. Because you don't earn it, you don't get the achievement.
Another big error is that, because you can get XP offline, everything is saved on the console. If people played RSV1, they get an error every now and again that resets their rank, and they have to start over.
Finally, and this one includes myself, people have found a glitch that allows you to infinitely spawn a turret gunner in the first single-player mission so that you can keep killing him and get 5 or 10 XP a kill. Now, if you need to rank up, it's a good way, but people are abusing the system, and that needs to be fixed.
Otherwise I love the game and think that it will take off and stay at the top for a while.

At least the ranks don't mean anything except unlocks. The first Rainbowsix Vegas on the PC didn't have ranks at all.

True, but it just annoys you because you get 20,000 XP...and then it gets deleted, and this cycle repeats.

I'd like to change my vote to "Fuck this PoS". I'm so done with this game. I've given it about 1000 extra chances but it still can't entertain me. The things that piss me off most:
- HORRIBLY optimized -> sometimes I still get 15 FPS @ 640x480
- After two patches, still no ping system
- After two patches, still no working ingame VoIP system
- Network lag is terrible. I can only play at one or two servers, without rubberbanding like a bumper car on speed
- Overall bugs and shortcomings, like saving your profiles locally instead of just on a masterserver.
Yesterday I finally decided to put this game for sale. So if anyone has a good PC and internet connection, who only plays this game at one house, and doesn't mind using Teamspeak instead of ingame VoIP, you can buy it from me for 25 euros.
