Nice. Heavy needs an additional weapon (dual wield?) and a Scout like speed boost.

Its good that valve realized the heavy sucks without a medic. If I ever play heavy, i let everyone know because if I dont get a medic on me its simply not worth playing it as opposed to any other assault kit. Hopefully the new gun will allow him to be more independent.

Sweet. I love how they're outlining their goals to the fans and customers. It's good to see they have a direction. I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of bitching and moaning about the results, but I trust them to fix things, eventually.
After all, if you're not having fun playing the game, you could just take a break from it, rather than slamming the company all the time, no?
Hopefully they can make the Heavy more useful without a medic, as I know that right now I only play if there's an Invul medic on that I trust.
EDIT: Why'd you post the same thing while I was typing?! =(

To be fair, people have already paid for the game. If they manage to screw it up afterward with patches, I think its fair to slam the company.
However, i think valve will do well from here on. Bit of a screw up with the pyro update, but that was different from the others because they had to buff the originally underpowered pyro, which can be tricky. From now on I think they just have to make alternative weapons rather than totally better weapons.
At least valve doesnt patch games like relic does with CoH. Every single patch that was ever released completely changed the game and everyones strategys. It was almost comical because the first week of a release, you would see everyone completely revert to using the new overpowered strategy that one of the top players came up with. At least in TF2, everythings more or less gonna be the same, but with more alternatives to make things more interesting.

So how does this sound...
Give the Heavy a taunt that temporarily increases his damage. Medics wont want you taunting in battle because it makes them an easy target or you could make Heavies unhealable while taunting. Players that try and spam it would be easy to spot and easily killed since you could just back off and wait for them to taunt again.

Wow. This is great change management by Valve. I love seeing this amount of deliberation (and openness) in their decision making process.
If Valve was public I'd be buying as much of their stock as possible right now. Failing that, I'm happy to play TF2 as much as possible.

The pyro update wasn't really a screwup, and I think it made the game significantly more fun.
