First off, hello TG7! Love the server and your whole free-wheelin' attitude. I know a lot of you guys from other titles, so it's particularly enjoyable to light you on fire, or, in better times give you the ghostbuster-medic treatment.

I have a question thats been bugging me concerning new maps. Is there a list of maps in the current rotation so I can be better prepared? Having to autoload them from the server is particularly slow for me and is a huge buzz kill when you've been playing and then are forced to sit and wait. Plus I imagine this creates additional strain on the server that I don't want to cause.

I've loaded a few map packs to try and keep up in the past, but lately have encountered some newer ones that I haven't been able to track down (I got a version mismatch on the snofort map, for example). Does anyone have some recommendations here?

Hey Mosely!

We've been trying to add the maps slowly so that people don't suffer from too many missing maps. We play them a few times to see how they run and to allow people to get them downloaded, then we put them into the rotation. I agree about the pain of downloading maps when you want to be playing. My surprise download of labor the other night stalled and ended my night early.

Right now, there are only 4 custom maps which we play.

1. ctf_turbine_v3
2. cp_castle
3. cp_labor
4. ctf_snofort_final

The first 3 are in our rotation and the 4th may be soon.

The ones running on the server should be the latest unless someone screwed up. You can manually install the maps in your game folder to avoid downloading, but you could possibly run into a mismatch. We typically get them from [url=http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/games/297:9c306]FPS Banana[/url:9c306].

Well obviously you are so lazy you don't even read it, so you aren't really in a position to accuse anyone of slacking.

You find the downloads to be slow? Man I get incredible download speeds on our server when getting a new map.

By the way, they don't download from the actual game server, we have it set up so they come from a web server. Doesn't impact gameplay at all.
