Default sourceTV bot?

What's the deal with the sourceTV bot on our server? Is someone testing it out?

That's kinda cool... I'd rather spectate and wait for a slot than kick people. :geek:

I turned it on before to test it out. I wasn't able to connect as a spec though, so I took it off. The bot shouldn't still be there since I turned it off. Strange.

I noticed gametracker seemed to be under the impression that the server was empty late afternoon/evening even though it wasn't. Not sure if this was in any way related to the sourceTV bot or completely random.

Game Monitor had the same problem. Unrelated. Probably just not polling the server properly.

Should we be kicking this bot off in prime time? It re-appeared last night and it played so poorly that my team lost.

Yes, it should no longer appear, but if you see it, kick it.

It was running yesterday and I managed to connect to it fine. Worked perfectly.

So is it just a spectating thing or does it do other things?

EDIT: Well [url=http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Source_TV:4792b]this[/url:4792b] answered my question. Would be cool to have it record demos if it works like Battle Recorder, or just for scrims/matches on our second server.
