Most leagues require the recording of demos of every match. It is
very important that everybody does this properly or we could face a forfeit for not being able to produce them.
The
Demo Recording thread contains most of the information you need to know about recording demos.
For matches, we will be recording and uploading every demo of every round we play. Please only start recording your demo just before ready time and stop it at the end of the round to keep content relevant and file sizes small. You should record a new demo for each round. For rounds where the game auto-starts for the next round, don't bother stopping the demo and just allow it to keep running instead.
Naming Conventions:
For consistency and easy locating in the file system, you should name your demos like so:
YYYY-MM-DD-map_name-RX-Yourname
So, my demo today for Round 1 of ctf_2fort would be called:
2007-10-20-ctf_2fort-R1-Bommando.dem
There is no need to record the demo with this name. It's a lot faster if you just record it with a short name to save time before the match, like "record matchR1". You can just rename the file later.
Uploading:
When you have named your demos, please ZIP them all up in one file and upload them to your reply in the relevant match thread in our forum. Always use ZIP compression format, since it's the most ubiquitous. There is an upload tab at the bottom of the post section which will allow you to upload files of up to 20MB.
