Re: ctf_quarry
Like omg wtf happened in there? I thought it was a little unsportsmanlike how one team chose to run the other team over before anyone even got in the game. On a new map, it makes sense to give people a chance to move about before it ends.
My team only saw the spawn area, and that looked pretty cool. I'll report on the rest of the map next time.

Re: ctf_quarry
This is the ctf map where you get steamrolled by mining carts right?
Looks like it has some potential. It was set for 2 caps so it was over way too fast. Please increase to at least 3 caps.

Re: ctf_quarry
I put in a 1-round, 3-cap config file.

Re: ctf_quarry
I didn't download it in time to play, but the sheer hilarity of being run over a mining cart sounds intriguing.

Re: ctf_quarry
I thought it was an extremely fun map personally. I liked the number of routes available (some with mining cars, so watch out!), and there seemed to be plenty of options to move around. Unfortunately the game was way too short to get any kind of defenses set up on either side, so my team ran roughshod over the opposition before I could even find where the docs were located. I did manage to find about 8 of the mine cars though:cry:.

Re: ctf_quarry
Nice layout, very well done. There seems to be three ways to get across the map (top, middle, bottom). Although I think the bottom route is only accessible by the quicker classes. As previously stated, two captures are way too short. Other than that, it's a keeper.

You can make it as heavy and soldier, you just have to wait on the trains to go by or you'll get splattered.

Visually i liked it, but other than that I thought it was really cramped. Most of hallways are narrow with lots of corners. The only open area is the centre, which seems to be camped fairly easy as the main entrances are right next to one another allowing easy demoman and sentry coverage. There is that lower route with the mining cars. But since you have to wait for the cars it makes it a slow and risky place to go through. It also passes through the centre where you're a sitting duck waiting for the car on the next track to go by. The cars would be less painful if they were spaced a bit more and had warning lights like on well.
Might be a good map to run with a lower player count. But with a full server my first impressions are that it will play out like turbine where the stronger team will pin the other in their base while zoopy bitches.

I hated the mine cars, they make the alternate routes mostly unusable which seriously cripples what can be done on that map.
