Default If I played CoH...

how steep is the learning curve of WiC? Basically, is it even worth getting my ass kicked MP every night?

It's tough to try and figure out if you are comparing COH or not because of the title. WIC is not a complicated game but it does have it's nuances and requires solid teamwork to win. I think it's worth giving it a run. It's very much Rock, Scissors, Paper, just understand that you and 2 other guys can do extremely well by taking 3 key roles and performing well as a team.

CoH online was pretty brutal after trying to play players who had been playing for months and months before I got it. They knew every single map and all the strength/weakness of every side - not to mention an exploit or 2 or 20.

Pretty soon every map played out exactly the same w/ zero diversity in strategy.

Just wondering if it's pretty much going to be the same deal. If so, I won't bother wasting my time.

1 player has far less impact in WIC than they do in COH. Also, the TA will dispose of even the toughest single opponents. It does take a team effort to win, or lose.

Uh..?

WiC is pretty easy to get accustomed to. You'll bound to make a couple bone-headed moves, like keep all your tanks bundled up to get hit by TA, but the learning curve is very easy and is quite forgiving to the casual player that doesn't know all the bells and whistles to the game. There are very very few exploits in the game and the maps allow a nice pace and balance.

The main thing to keep in mind with this game is that it is 100 times better when you have good teamwork; and this teamwork doesn't involve saying "I'm going A", or "Bomb down at B". Quality teamwork and tactical decisions (or lack thereof) will determine the fun factor when you play WiC.

Try the Intel sponsored demo and watch a few of the replays I have here and see if you like it. From what I have been told, it is very much different to CoH.
